Ash Earl

Technical Assistant

Ash’s work covers a variety of technology sectors including pharmaceutical chemistry, industrial chemistry, the food industry and household chemical products. Ash’s portfolio of work includes applications related to small molecules as well as second medical uses of known pharmaceutical compounds. He has ample experience working with polymers and additives, with diverse uses and applications. Ash’s Master’s research project in the field of surfactants has been hugely beneficial to him with his work related to household chemical products.

He works with many of the senior patent attorneys at Gill Jennings & Every to advise a wealth of different types of clients. The advice that we provide is tailored to the specific needs of individuals, but we strive to ensure that we deliver consistent, meaningful and perceptive advice to all of our clients. Ash enjoys dismantling complex legal and technological situations and constructing manageable guidance that is considerate of his clients’ business objectives.

Ash has experience prosecuting patent applications in a range of jurisdictions across the world, as well as in Europe and the UK. He has experience defending his clients’ granted European patents in opposition and appeal proceedings before the EPO, as well as opposing third party European patents. Ash appreciates all opportunities to undertake new types of work and likes to assist senior patent attorneys to deliver our products, such as IP Audits.

Ash is extremely organised and efficient, so he prefers to present advice that is succinct and enables his clients to make simple, informed decisions. We are a team of highly qualified and specialised individuals, but we endeavour to offer sensible and intelligible guidance to our clients, regardless of their level of expertise with IP.

Ash is a keen sportsman and enjoys keeping active. He was co-captain of the firm softball team in 2016 and a proud member of the GJE team when they won the CIPA 5-a-side football tournament in ’17. Ash also likes to cook, which seems to be a common trait between chemists.
