Ben graduated from Imperial College London with a Master’s degree in Chemistry which included a placement year at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, where he specialised in the synthesis of complex nanostructures. During his degree, Ben elected medicinal chemistry and medicinal biology courses alongside his other studies.
Ben joined Gill Jennings & Every, and the profession, in 2014 and is working towards full qualification as a UK and European patent attorney.
Ben works on a wide variety of subject areas in the applied chemistry, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology fields. Ben has particular experience working on inventions involving nanochemistry, polymer chemistry, electrochemistry and semi-conducting material technology, cleantech, ink and pigment technologies, laundry technology, personal care product technologies, cancer therapeutics, small molecules, drug delivery, and biosynthesis.
Ben supports the GJE team in advising a range of domestic and international companies from universities, university spin-outs, and small start-ups to large consumer goods conglomerates. Ben has experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, as well as written inter partes and ex parte matters before the EPO. He aims to keep client needs and best interests at the heart of everything he does.
In his spare time, Ben enjoys cycling, running, playing squash, volunteering, and travelling.
