Esmé graduated from Durham University with a Master of Chemistry degree, with her final year research project relating to tridentate ligands and luminescent complexes.
She also has a Postgraduate Certificate in Intellectual Property from Brunel University.
Esmé joined Gill Jennings & Every in 2018, having begun her career in 2015 at another private practice firm of patent attorneys.
Esmé works in the applied chemistry, pharmaceutical and life sciences fields with particular experience working on inventions in small molecule chemistry, cancer and other healthcare related therapeutics, food chemistry and personal and home care technology.
Esmé works with a variety of clients ranging from start-ups to multinational companies. She has a particular interest in working with start-up companies and developing an IP strategy in alignment to the development of the company to ensure its potential value and assets are maximised. Esmé also works on oppositions before the EPO, and is working on increasing her experience in this area.
Esmé aims to understand her clients’ commercial strategy and requirements and tailors her intellectual property advice accordingly.
Esmé is very active and enjoys trying her hand at most sports, but her main sport is hockey which she plays for Wimbledon Hockey Club. She is also a keen baker and is frequently trying out recipes for various sweet treats.
