Henry graduated with a Masters degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Imperial College in 2002.
He has a doctorate awarded by the Centre for Communications Research, University of Bristol, following his work under a postgraduate scholarship. Research activities included the design and construction of a new antenna and a mobile telephone frontend.
Henry joined Gill Jennings & Every in 2013 having previously trained and qualified at another top tier firm of European patent and trade mark attorneys. He became a senior associate in 2015.
Henry specialises in advising SMEs on how to obtain protection for their IP as well as related business considerations. This work includes developing IP strategies, performing IP due diligence, drafting patent applications and advising on all forms of IP protection, including design rights, copyright and trade marks. As well as being the preferred IP specialist of a leading European investor, he has had considerable success at growing the firm’s business in Norway. His clients also include a number of multinational corporations and he is expert at prosecuting patent applications and opposition proceedings before the EPO. His technical areas include electrical, electronic and electro-mechanical technologies in addition to oil and gas technologies. In particular, he has specialist knowledge of mobile telecommunications, electrical circuits, optics, software and business methods.
In his spare time, Henry’s interests include tennis, country sports, chess and European culture.
