Paul graduated from the University of Surrey with an Honours Degree in Physics with Satellite Technology. His final year dissertation involved performing two-photon absorption, measuring spin-flip lifetimes of electrons in quantum dots.
Paul stayed on at Surrey to obtain a PhD in Physics with the photonics group. He utilized nanoelectronics to separate electron-hole pairs in semiconductor nanorods, and investigated resonance energy transfer processes between organic ligands and rare-earth emitters.
Paul also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law, from Queen Mary, University of London; and an Associateship of the University of Surrey.
Paul joined the patent profession in 2014, working for another leading private practice prior to joining Gill Jennings & Every in 2018.
Paul has broad experience prosecuting patents pertaining to: financial transactions, telecommunications, software, electronics, and physics. He has experience in representing companies of various sizes, from large blue-chip companies to start-ups.
Paul also works closely with Peter Finnie, helping investors and start-ups as part of our ConsultIP offering. Paul has a strong desire to understand the commercial opportunities available to his clients, and direct their intellectual property strategy accordingly.
In his spare time, Paul enjoys photography, playing music, and competing in triathlons.
