Ruth graduated from Keble College Oxford with an Honours degree in Physics.
She also holds the Certificate in Intellectual Property Law, from Queen Mary, University of London.
Ruth joined Gill Jennings & Every in 2013 having previously trained at another London firm of patent and trade mark attorneys.
Ruth has experience in drafting of UK, European and US patent applications and prosecution of patent applications worldwide. Ruth also has experience with due diligence, including portfolio review and freedom to operate work; US contentious matters, including inter-partes re-examination and pre-trial infringement and validity litigation; and has prepared invention and patent assignments and Community Registered Design applications. She also appears before European Patent Office Examination and Opposition Divisions.
Ruth works predominantly with UK direct clients, from individual inventors to spin-out and start-up companies to multinationals. She also works with foreign attorneys and corporate patent departments.
Ruth has worked on a wide variety of physics and engineering based technologies. Her professional experience is focussed on telecommunications, in particular wireless protocol standards-related technology. She has also worked with technology relating to payment systems, medical devices, packaging, food processing, oil and gas pipelines, network interface cards, audio signal processing, GPS and automotive engineering.
In her free time Ruth practices the Korean martial art SulKiDo and enjoys sketching.
