Thomas graduated from the University of Augsburg, Germany with the first state examination and passed the second state examination (bar exam) in Bavaria, Germany after completing the Bavarian mandatory legal clerkship. Thomas graduated from the Victoria University of Wellington with a Master Degree in Law (LL.M.).
Thomas joined Gill Jennings & Every in 2018 after working for a German intellectual property firm since having been admitted to the Munich Bar of Lawyers in 2005.

Thomas works in trade mark law for different industries, for instance, games, playthings, entertainment, cosmetics and (sports) apparel.
Thomas practices mainly in the field of trade marks advising on all aspects of selecting, registering and protecting brands worldwide. This work includes advice relating to:
• invalidity and revocation of trade marks
• anti-counterfeiting matters.
Thomas represents a wide range of domestic and international clients including a world leading sports entertainment organisation, one of the world’s largest toy companies, a leading global sports apparel company, a global aesthetics company, and power management technologies and services company. Thomas handles all aspects of European Union and German trade mark work, but spends the majority of his time on EU opposition matters.
Thomas is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR)
In his spare time, Thomas enjoys mountaineering.
