GJE is excited to announce that the firm has joined the climate tech community Climate Connection as a Community Partner.
The announcement comes at a time of increasing interest from start-ups and high-growth firms working in the field of climate technology in protecting their intellectual property. Many are at the stage where they are seeking external funding, and need to be able to demonstrate registerable IP and an IP strategy to investors.
Under the new partnership, Climate Connection members will benefit from access to training sessions and workshops, as well as the opportunity to have a free one-to-one IP consultation with GJE’s attorneys.
GJE partner and head of the firm’s climate technology and sustainability group Alistair Holzhauer-Barrie said:
“I am delighted to be joining Climate Connection as a Community Partner. In recent years we have all become increasingly aware of the need to decarbonise and address significant climate factors while at the same time maintaining and improving standards of living – both in the UK and worldwide. Delivering these simultaneously requires innovative solutions in fields as diverse as energy, manufacturing, transport, construction and agriculture as well as many others. The UK has some fantastic start-up and scale-up firms looking to provide these solutions, and I’m keen to help them protect their intellectual property.”
Speaking at Climate Connection’s flagship event series, Climate Tech Time, CEO and Founder of Climate Connection Juliette Devillard said:
“Most of the innovation we need to tackle climate change is hard tech – solutions that physically reshape the infrastructure of our world. Whether in chemicals, energy, agriculture or materials, these technologies depend on defensible IP. That’s why expert guidance from partners like GJE is so valuable to the start-ups in our network – helping them protect their ideas and scale their impact.”
Climate Connection was founded in 2021 to bring together Climate Tech professionals and founders from across different climate verticals. They hold over 40 events per year, including a long-running event series designed to unlock more capital investment into Climate Tech, run in collaboration with Innovate UK.
