GJE is delighted to welcome Dr Denise Nestle-Nguyen who has joined our chemistry and life sciences team as a senior associate. She joins us from French IP firm Casalonga, where she was a salaried partner.
Denise brings with her over 10 years of IP experience, and is qualified as a European, German and Swiss patent attorney. Her primary specialisms are in the drafting and prosecution of patents in the fields of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, where she has worked with leading innovative companies across Europe and Asia. She is also highly experienced advising on trade marks and registered designs.
A fluent Mandarin speaker, Denise regularly travels to China where she has spoken at professional conferences on IP.
Speaking on her appointment, Denise said:
“I am incredibly excited to be joining the W&H and GJE teams. Both firms have an enviable reputation in the areas which I am interested in the most, and the alliance will allow me to work across both of Europe’s leading IP centres.”
Welcoming Denise to the firm, GJE joint managing partner Stephen Haley said:
“Our chemistry and life sciences team has expanded rapidly in the past few years, particularly in the fields of biotech and pharma. With Denise joining our team, we are able to offer clients additional senior capability, at the same time as strengthening our team in Germany.”
Denise is based with Munich-based IP firm Wächtershäuser & Hartz (W&H). GJE entered into an alliance with W&H in 2025, allowing clients of both firms to benefit from a larger and multitalented team. To read more about her practice and background, please see Denise’s biography.
