European Patent Attorney

Dominic has a master’s degree in Physics from the University of Warwick. As part of his training at GJE, he completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law at Queen Mary University of London.

Career History

Dominic joined GJE in 2017 and qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 2021.

Dominic’s work is focussed on drafting and prosecuting European, British and overseas patent applications. He also has experience of working on oppositions before the European Patent Office and has advised clients on infringement and invalidity matters.

Main specialisms
Dominic’s work is mainly in:
• engineering
• electronics
• software.

Within these fields, he has experience working with a diverse range of subject matter including:
• semiconductors
• security devices
• cloud computing.

Dominic has particular experience in handling prosecution work on behalf of large multinational organisations. He also works with a number the firm’s UK-based clients, for whom he regularly undertakes drafting and prosecution work, and has experience of handling agency work for the firm’s overseas attorney contacts, in particular those in the US and Japan.

Outside of work, Dominic enjoys walking, reading, cooking and the occasional bike ride.
