We were delighted to host a group of A-level students at GJE for our third work experience event held in conjunction with The Sutton Trust. After a general introduction to the world of IP law, detailed workshops on trade marks, patents and designs gave the students an opportunity to learn more about the issues involved in protecting brands and inventions – and to ask plenty of questions of our attorneys about the career. The students also had the opportunity to meet with many of GJE’s business support teams to help gain an understanding of the many and varied roles within the firm. On the final day, the students demonstrated how much they had learnt by preparing and delivering presentations to a panel of guest speakers who also kindly shared their experiences within the IP industry to help illustrate the many career options available.
We certainly enjoyed the experience and hope our cohort of students did too!
Many thanks to Jamie Muir Wood, Ellen Lambrix and Darrin Shaya for joining us and for all their contributions to the event.
