William Luckin

Trainee Patent Attorney

Will is a trainee patent attorney in the IT & engineering group, working towards becoming fully qualified. He is involved in the drafting and prosecution of European and UK patent applications, as well as handling UK registered designs.

Will has particular experience in quantum computing innovations, as well as climate tech and cleantech, helping to capture innovation with both complex hardware and significant software aspects. He has helped start-ups, SMEs and scaling firms in these sectors secure linchpin IP to “lock in” value from their core innovation and help secure further funding.

Away from the office, Will enjoys outdoor (sport) climbing, playing the guitar and tinkering with old computers.

  • High performance computing
  • Climate tech

Before joining GJE in 2023, Will completed his PhD in theoretical physics at the University of Bath. His research focused on electronic phenomena in 2d materials, particularly graphene and the transition metal dichalcogenides.
