Alice’s regular work includes drafting and prosecuting European, UK and foreign patent applications in a variety of fields, in addition to helping clients obtain registered design protection.  Alice works with a range of clients including large multinational companies and SMEs based in the UK, Europe and further afield.

Alice has a technical background in physics.  Alice has a PhD in experimental physics, during which she studied low temperature electron behaviour in two-dimensional molybdenum disulphide transistors.  From this, she has experience with a wide variety of technologies such as advanced microscopy techniques, device fabrication and processing, and measurement systems including low temperature measurement systems.

In her spare time, Alice enjoys playing the flute, singing, cooking and cycling, especially long-distance cycling on the back of a tandem.

Some of the technical fields in which Alice specialises include:

  • Cryogenics
  • Quantum technology
  • Semiconductor devices
  • Telecommunications
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Medical devices
  • Audio equipment
  • Advanced microscopy techniques
  • Two-dimensional materials
  • Cleanroom fabrication techniques
