Ash passed the European Qualifying Examination on his first attempt and scored in the top 5% in most of the papers. He was also awarded with a Distinction for the Certificate in Intellectual Property Law taught at Queen Mary University of London. Ash holds a First-class Master’s Degree in Chemistry having graduated from the University of Bristol in 2015. At university, he specialised in organic and physical chemistry.
Ash qualified as a UK Patent Attorney in 2020 and a European Patent Attorney in 2019, having started his career as a trainee with the firm in 2015.
Ash is a Chartered & European Patent Attorney, who is committed to providing each of his clients with accessible, actionable advice that complements the needs and objectives of his clients’ businesses. He principally advises clients in relation to developing and executing global patent strategies, and defending and opposing European patents. Ash has also worked with clients to carry out patent matter due diligence to obtain finance, undergo public offerings and evaluate partnering opportunities.

Ash is a foodie and (fortunately for his heart) a keen sportsperson. He hikes and cycles regularly, and enjoys playing softball as part of the firm’s team for annual games against other firms. He has a strong interest in the environment and enjoys reading about developments in sustainability.
