Samantha Wallworth

Trainee Patent Attorney

Samantha is a Trainee Patent Attorney within the Chemistry & Life Sciences group at GJE, working towards full qualification as a European and UK Patent Attorney.  Samantha works with patents across a wide variety of subject areas in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical fields.

Samantha enjoys collaborating with a diversity of clients across the world, drawing on her strong technical background in biochemistry to translate innovation into commercial success for her clients’ businesses.

Outside of the office, Samantha is a keen horse rider, and can often be found exploring the countryside on horseback.

Samantha has particular experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the subject areas of:

  • Vaccines and immunology
  • Oncology
  • Nucleic acid and antibody technologies
  • Diagnostics
  • Biologics
  • Pharmaceuticals

Samantha graduated from University College London in 2021, with an exceptionally high First Class Master’s degree in Biochemistry, where she was awarded a spot on the Dean’s List.  The final year of her degree was spent working on the discovery of a novel post-translational modification of proteins involved in Alzheimer’s disease, and the translational applications of her research in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.

Samantha joined GJE in October 2021, and is now working towards full qualification as a European and UK Patent Attorney.
