Kessia is a European patent attorney with experience spanning across a wide variety of subject areas in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical fields. Kessia has particular experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the UK and Europe, and enjoys working with a variety of clients, including individual inventors, universities, SMEs and large pharmaceutical companies.

Kessia obtained her PhD in Neuroscience at King’s College London, where she gained experience in numerous laboratory techniques, including molecular biology, cellular biology and immunology.

Outside of work, Kessia loves to travel and spending time with her growing family, including Betty the Sproodle.

European Patent Attorney

Kessia has a First Class degree in Neuroscience from the University of Leeds, where she also undertook an industrial placement year at MedImmune (AstraZeneca).  Kessia then went on to complete her PhD at King’s College London, also in Neuroscience, where her doctoral work focused on the importance of peripheral mediators in chronic pain states.

Kessia joined GJE in September 2018 and qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 2022.
