Trainee Patent Attorney

Tom is a Trainee Patent Attorney within the Chemistry & Life Sciences group at GJE and works on drafting and prosecuting patents across a wide variety of subject areas in the field of biotechnology.

Outside of work, he enjoys cycling, going to the gym, and getting into a good book.

Tom specialises in biotechnology to help build on the IP portfolios of many different clients, where he has experience working in the fields of:

DNA/RNA sequencing
Biologics
Molecular genetics
Enzymes

Tom graduated from the University of Oxford with a First Class Master’s degree in Biochemistry. His final year project worked on better understanding cell-to-cell heterogeneity in bacterial stress responses using single-molecule imaging and microfluidic techniques. He joined GJE in 2023.
