Guy holds two Masters Degrees having graduated from Oxford University with an MEng in Engineering Science in 2013, and from UCL in 2015 with an MSc in Naval Architecture.
Guy joined Gill Jennings & Every in 2015 and is working towards full qualification as a UK and European patent attorney.
Previously, Guy spent two years working for the UK Ministry of Defence as a Naval Architect where his roles included supporting the Royal Navy’s Type 45 Destroyers and Type 23 Frigates, and assisting in the design of the UK’s Dreadnought class submarines (due in service 2028).
Guy has experience with a wide variety of technologies within the broad subject areas of engineering, physics, electronics and materials science. He has recently worked for clients in the telecommunications, medical technology, document security and Oil & Gas sectors.
Guy works with a wide variety of clients, from individual inventors to multinational corporations. His work regularly involves drafting and prosecuting UK, European and foreign patent applications. Additionally, Guy has experience prosecuting European and British design rights, and performing portfolio review, freedom-to-operate and patent validity assessments. Guy tailors his approach to the aims and requirements of each individual client, and enjoys meeting clients and inventors to gain a direct understanding of their commercial and strategic goals which helps inform his advice.
As a member of GJE’s social committee, Guy helps organise firm-wide events throughout the year. Outside of work Guy enjoys travelling, and playing and watching American football, having been president of Oxford Lancers American Football Club during his time at university.
