As a chemist and biochemist, Wolfgang advises domestic and international clients in all patent-related matters in the technical fields of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, as well as material sciences, such as ceramics, electrodes, polymers, and food technology. For domestic clients, he provides the full range of services from drafting patent applications and prosecuting them both in Europe and overseas, to regularly providing expert opinions on freedom-to-operate and validity. For international clients, his main practice is as a representative before the European Patent Office, both in application and opposition proceedings.
Wolfgang’s clients are innovative domestic and Japanese SMEs and domestic start-ups in the fields of his technical specialisations.
Outside work, Wolfgang loves spending time with his wife and three children, wine, and has recently started to play the drums.

Wolfgang holds a chemistry diploma from the University of Konstanz, Germany, and a doctorate in biochemistry from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich. He also holds a diploma degree in European Patent Litigation (CEIPI).
Wolfgang has been in the IP field since the year 2000 with Wächtershäuser & Hartz, Munich. He became a partner of Wächtershäuser & Hartz in 2005.
